From Ellie over at the blog (in)Visible we have a really well thought out and written essay about challenging trans-normative narratives and exploring the nuanced relationship trans* people can have to their gender and personal histories. While some of the trans* people in my life express their own experiences of trans-ness and history in very binary and commonly understood terms, many others (my partner included) do not. There is surely room in the overarching trans* narrative for a wide range of perspectives, and Ellie does a great job of elucidating this one.

Yasmin Nair and I disagree on a raft of issues, or in many cases, on the approach we take even on issues we’re in agree on. However, I thought she knocked this on out of the park. The sex-negative tone that many on the left have taken in regards to the recent battles around access to contraception may be logical politics, but it sacrifices moral and spiritual ground that women and feminist fought decades for in order to do so.
